Foodies and seafood lovers often rate their stay at Che Shale as a great food experience, while meat enthusiasts and vegetarian are also happily catered to.

Our cuisine is a blend of international cuisine enhanced by local flavors and spices such as ginger, coriander coconut, mango, turmeric and more. We are blessed with abundant seafood year-round and beautiful produce, with a great variety of fruits and vegetables grown in Kenya.

Gather around the bar or on our chill platform in the evening for sundowners. Share stories with fellow guests or play a game of Jenga. Ask your barman for a Dawa for something truly Kenyan, or a refreshing Mojito with our own hydroponic-grown fragrant mint.

Must-try crab dishes from our organic crab farm

Don’t leave without indulging in our tasty Mangrove Crabs or Blue Swimmer Crabs - our favorite is the Wok-Tossed Crab in Ginger and Oyster Sauce. Our restaurant is also well-known for serving our home-grown Soft Shell Crabs. They are a true delicacy for any seafood lover and we serve them Golden Crispy with a delicious Mango Salsa.

Che Shale's organic crab farm offers a fascinating glimpse into the life of crabs and lobsters. Ask for a tour of the farm and learn how a Soft Shell Crab is harvested. See how this is a true farm-to-plate experience.

Most of our guests opt for Full Board as we are the only property on our beach, but Half Board and B&B are also available options. Lunch menu is a-la-carte and in the evening we offer a 4-course menu, which changes every night based on what is fresh and in season.

Enjoy your meals served al fresco on the beach, at the kite chill lounge or in our restaurant. All stays include complimentary afternoon tea/coffee and freshly baked cookies or cake.

Che Shale restaurant is open to the public 7 days a week for lunch and dinner. Advance reservations are recommended for large groups.
